Class Content: Drawing/Painting 103: One-Point Perspective!!
How to DRAW and PAINT using ONE-POINT PERSPECTIVE
(the art method that converges lines onto one single vanishing point that creates depth and proportion in a drawing/painting).
Beginners and Intermediate
Let’s have fun learning this skill. Learning this will improve our drawings; watercolor, acrylic, oil paintings; colored pencils, and any medium we use…even collage and photography. When we have our perspective off in our artwork it can throw our whole painting out of whack. But when we learn the skill and get it right it pulls everything together.
Hands-on Class: Graphite and Watercolor.
After a short lesson, we will put our learning into practice. This class will be a step-by-step learning of how to draw depth with using converging lines, one vanishing point, and the horizon line in drawing, and then we will create a one-point perspective in color/painting which will give a very different feel when it comes to this technique. We will see how to create city or farm scenes, beach or hiking paths, bridges, or tight ropes.
The class development is as follows:
1/3 of the class learning the technique
1/3 of the class practicing this technique with graphite (pencil)
1/3 of the class practicing this with paint (no experience with paint necessary)
Supply List: All supplies included in the class fee
